Construction Progress
C.W. Brooks Mid-rise
The C.W. Brooks Mid-rise will be a 60 unit, 4 story mid-rise building for seniors located at 45 West Baltimore Street. The building will be primarily funded through the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Estimated construction completion is the Spring of 2011.
The site for the C.W. Brooks Building is a 4.17 acre plot located adjacent to the HHA's administration offices and near the Potomac Towers senior hi-rise. It will be located three blocks from the center of Hagerstown with an array of culture and educational resources near by as well as shopping, dinning, churches, library, grocery store, and medical offices. Numerous community support services are found near here, including the Area Agency on Aging.
The building will feature amenities that include two elevators, an entry vestibule, multiple common areas, on-site parking, management and support services.
The total development cost for the C.W. Brooks Building will be $13,892,733.
Funding sources will be:
ARRA Capital Funds Recovery Grant $9,879,750
Principal team members on this project will be Pennrose Properties, Inc. (Developer), Wallace, Roberts & Todd (Architect) and Southway Builders (Construction Contractor).
Site preparation work is estimated to begin in winter of 2009 with Construction Start to begin spring of 2010. Estimated Construction Completion will be spring 2011 and units should be ready for Lease-up and Occupancy early Summer of 2011.
